Trip/Print
The concept for this projects came from my thesis, which focuses on various printmaking methods that are now forgotten, but were once large components of a graphic designer's life. The theme of the book and the type system revolves around the idea of a beginner printer who is not able to achieve that perfect print— yet. By flipping around certain characters and swelling others, the type system mimics the imperfections of letterpress printing.
The book is printed on a warm duratone paper and the binding is a full case bound hardcover book. All the photography was taken at the OCAD U letterpress facilities, with a focus on lead type, typesetting and the Vandercook Universal 1 Proofing Press.
